Phil's day

Hi all, fished our second winter league match on Weds. It was held on the Malcolm Barker club lake. We had a good turn out considering the virus and the cold. I drew peg 6 not known as a good peg but that's the luck of the draw. I fished for silvers as this time of the year they are a good bet. Made up two pole lines one at 10 meters and one at 12 meters also made the feeder up just in case. Fished the pole most of the day with no sign of a bite by 2pm gave up on the pole and put it away. Cast the feeder towards some lily pads with a small cage feeder and double red maggot. 5 minutes later got a drop back so went for it and hooked a 3lb 11oz carp gone from zero to hero phew one bite one fish.

1st Peter Green with 5lbs 5oz, 2nd Phil Whitmill 3lbs 11oz, 3rd Terry Tucker with 2lbs 2oz and 4th Fred Hunt with 1lb 5oz well done to all on such a hard day
