Hall Farm Large Lake
Great Hallingbury CM22 7TP
W3W brand.rent.flown
The large lake is approximately 1.5 acres. The depth varies from about 7 feet at the car park end to more than 12 feet at the M11 end. There are 26 pegged platformed swims. This is the Club's match lake and is generously stocked including plenty of F1s to keep bites coming all year round even in the depths of winter. The dam bank (far side from the car park) has steps down to the swims - the car park side offers easier access to the swims (there are 12 on this side). The margins are quite deep so take care.
Getting there:
From the M11 Roundabout (Bishop's Stortford): take the B1256 (old A120) to Dunmow. At the Esso station on the left take the road opposite to Great Hallingbury.
Follow the road (past the Beggars Hall fishery) all the way to Great Hallingbury. Just after the village hall the road goes into a dip, at the bottom of the dip on the right there is a 5 bar farm gate with a combination lock which is the entrance to the fishery. If you go over a small bridge you have gone too far.
From the south of Bishop's Stortford take the A1060 Hallingbury Road towards Little Hallingbury. A little before you get to Little Hallingbury turn left (Church Lane) head towards Great Hallingbury. Continue towards Great Hallingbury and over the M11. You will then start heading down a hill and over a small bridge where the road narrows - the fishery turn off is on the left just after the bridge where there is a 5 bar farm gate with a combination lock which is the entrance to the fishery. If you get to the Great Hallingbury village sign you have gone too far.

There is a car park near the lake - ignore the small grassed car park to your left as you go through the gate and up the track - this serves the Small Lake. Head to the end of the track, around the storage building keeping it to your right and you will see a track in the top left corner of the yard behind the storage building. Turn left on the track and then an immediate left to the end of the small run of track. The car park near the lake sign can take approx. 5 cars. After that, please park along the hedge line or, if this looking soft under foot, go back to the storage building and please park on the hard standing.
