Phil's day

Hi to all, fished the Weds club match at the Malcolm Barker Lake. The weather was a complete opposite to last Weds - we were baking in 90F (about 28C) with clear skies so we knew it was going to be hard. I made two lines up: one for the lily pads; and one at 12 meters. Started off on the pads with corn and pellet and picked off a few small roach. This didn't last long and I was fishing hard for a bite. Fed a bit of maggots and groundbait then left that and went on the 12 meters line. Not a thing, completely fishless so after 20 mins of that went back to the pads and started picking up skimmers of about 4 or so ozs. I stayed with that for the rest of the match.

Results are 1st Jeff Pearson with 11lbs 8oz, 2nd Tony Parker 11lbs 4ozs, 3rd John Pretious 7lbs 2ozs and 4th Phil Whitmill 6lbs 8oz.
