Phil's day
Good morning to all, the Weds club fished its monthly interclub match against Abbey Cross at their Taylors Lake. The weather was very windy which made holding a pole very difficult but at times it was manageable. I drew peg 30 not a good peg for me but being the end of summer I had lily pads to fish to instead of open water. Only made one pole line and stuck to it. With a feeder just in case the wind made it impossible to fish the pole. I started cupping in a bit of groundbait with some pellets and hemp and, after 40 odd mins, I started catching small roach and rudd. I tried other baits but kept going back to what I could get a bite on and figured if I can't get a carp I would go for the roach. This went on for most of the day then about 2ish I got an F1 about 4lb which really bumped up my weight. By the end of the day I weighed in 7lbs 6oz . Well done to all on a very difficult day,
