Current hot weather

We have not had a lot of rain recently and there is more hot weather due over the next few weeks. Whilst water levels are dropping we thankfully have reasonably deep lakes. Our main concern is oxygen levels dropping - this can be a big problem if we have thunderstorms.

We shall be taking regular O2 readings on the lakes but can we ask that you keep an eye out for any fish looking in distress - typically on the top doing lots of mouthing for air.

If you think we may have a problem please call Robin (01279 461065) or Steve (01279 504663) and/or email honsec@bsdas.org.uk.

Please also be careful to ensure that you wet down any unhooking mats/cradles just before using them for a fish as they can get very hot in the sun.

Thank you
