Phil's day
Hi all, fished the weds club match at Malcolm Barker Lake it was our 5th round of our summer league and all to play for its getting close for several anglers. I drew peg 2 which, to be honest is a very good peg, but I have broken more sections of pole on that peg then on any other lake and yesterday was no exception. It was my 6th section got into a big carp and straight in the lily pads. I managed to get the pole out with some clever thinking but lost about 1 hour of my match but that's how it goes. I fed sweetcorn and pellet for the day and fished corn as hookbait - it got me a couple of tench and one lost tench and a couple of pound of rudd and roach to weigh in with 5lbs 11oz for 5th place.
1st was Fred Hunt with 9lbs 8oz, 2nd Jeff Pearson with 7lbs 4oz, 3rd was Barry Pegram with 7lbs 2oz and 4th Ray Gibson with 6lbs 7oz, well done to all. Photo is Ray Gibson one of our oldest of our group.
