Hi All

At Hall Farm today for the final round of the Summer league – forecast to be rain and wind today. Had a bit of a lead in the league so just hoping for a reasonable draw today – anywhere in the 20s would be good. No peg 13 today – put in 14 instead – couldn’t draw that could I ??? Anyway setting my box up in peg 14, put up a feeder rod and a few pole rigs – for 10m out and the margins.

Started on the feeder and after an hour had one carp around 3lb and a F1 about 1 ½ lb. No more so onto the pole for no bites. Fed the margins and after a few minutes noticed 2 carp on the feed – seemed to be the larger ones in Hall Farm. Tried all baits, corn, maggots, paste etc but nothing would take the bait – carp really spooky. Happy to come in close but as soon as they saw the line/hook bolted out.

After around 3 hours all quiet my end of the lake – Terry opposite on 12 just a few roach (although ended up with a couple around 10 – 12 oz) Barry, Phil and Ray just a couple of carp between them. Eventually put a grain of corn on a carp’s nose and it took it – after a good fight landed a 12lb common. This turned out the last bite and ended up with 17lb 7oz

At the weigh in, as expected the deep end struggled but some good weights elsewhere, notably John Carter's 83lbs 6oz from peg 4 to top the low bank. Jeff second from peg 1 with 52lbs 14oz and Peter third with 37lbs 8oz from peg 2. On the high bank Fred came top with 48lbs 6oz from 24, Graham 44lbs 13oz second from peg 20 and Bill third from 26 with 39lbs 10oz. Today's picture is Peter - next time Rob will get the rest of him.
