Phil's day

Hi to everyone, the Weds club fished the Malcolm Barker Lake on the interclub match against Abbey Cross. It was a freezing cold day with a heavy frost that didn't clear all day in some parts of the lake. There were 16 anglers that took part - that's good considering the age group. I drew peg 15 it's a very good peg, not a winning peg, but a peg that most times is 3rd or 4th so confidence was high but didn't get a bite. I tried everything but nothing worked, the angler next to me had a lucky carp for 6lb 13oz and won the match that was the only bite he had. It was hard all round the lake but at least some caught fish. Pic is my peg looking down the lake.

1st Alan Sims 6lbs 13oz, 2nd John Todd 1lb 9oz, 3rd Fred Hunt 1lb 2 oz and 4th Peter Green 13oz. Bishop's Stortford won with 53 points to Abbey Cross' 34.
