A couple of carp have been caught at Beggar's Hall over the last two days with lots of red sores on them. We are in contact with the EA to try and get an idea as to what is causing this and how serious this could be.

Can anyone catching a fish which has red sores on it (see below) or otherwise looks to be unwell please call either:

Robin Merritt (01279 461065) / honsec@bsdas.org.uk

Steve Foster (01279 504663) / chairman@bsdas.org.uk

Can you also please take photos including close ups of any sores / odd looking areas of the fish

As a reminder, you must make sure your nets, unhooking mats, etc are bone dry before attending any Club waters. You should ideally dry them out in the sun as the UV helps kills any bacteria etc.

If you see net dipping tanks appear at any Club waters over the next few days you MUST use them both before and after any fishing session. The tanks are not just for nets and you also need to dip things like weigh slings, unhooking mats and cradles.
