River Stort - Backwater

Getting there: Just as you come into Bishop's Stortford from the Spellbrook side of town (A1184), after the traffic lights at Whittington Way, take the next turning on the right into Pig Lane - you will also see signage for Twyford Business Centre at this junction.  From the Town side Pig Lane is a little past the Boy's High on the right. Head over the railway bridge and take the first left (Twyford Bury Lane) and continue until the end of the lane - Malcolm Barker Lake is on the right and the Backwater is accessed via the far side of the car park. This is a single lane track so keep an eye out for oncoming traffic - there are passing places.
