A few photos from the Waterside Festival taster sessions

A big thank you to John and Dave from Everybody Can Fish that run these

From John's Facebook post:

What a great bank holiday weekend we had over at Hall Farm, Bishop Stortford for the Waterside event. A lovely lake which is full of fish and perfect for this event. Over the two days we had over 40 people come along and try fishing as part of the Get Fishing Awards. This was in conjunction with Bishop's Stortford Town Council, Bishop's Stortford Tourist Information Centre and Bishop Stortford Angling Society.

The weather over the two days was lovely and it was a real privilege & pleasure to get new people trying fishing and also some returning anglers. The fish were very obliging on both days with some nice size fish being caught which really got the elastic stretching. Over the two days we caught Mirror Carp, Common Carp, Crucians, Roach and Rudd of various sizes including some very perfectly formed baby carp. Everybody caught fish and from the smiles and shouts from the participants they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Our thanks also to Dave and Gary from the angling club for their much needed help which was appreciated very much. Using 4m browning whips small 16 hooks baited with double and also single red maggots that did the trick, while also feeding pellets over the top.

Thanks to David and John our coaches for the weekend. A really fantastic event enjoyed by all those taking part and looking forward to next year which is in the diary already.
